This is part of my Forever Grateful project.
As I was selling my home and placing my business on hiatus for a period of time, I took portraits of about 30 people who influenced my career over the past 12 years. This was my way of saying “Thanks” and letting everyone know that I couldn’t have done it without their support.
Stason & Marcy,
I remember my friend Guy (The Master Builder) walking up to me at the first group art exhibit where I had work displayed. He was excited to tell me that this really nice couple was buying one of my pieces of art, and he wanted to bring you over to introduce us. When I met you, I was caught off guard by your gratitude and appreciation. I mean, here you were, buying the first piece of art I ever sold and supporting local artists… and you were thanking me? I felt like I was the only one who was supposed to be expressing gratitude at that moment.
This alone would have been enough for me to include you both in this project, but Stason, you continued to support be over the last 7 years with your Mac genius (not to be confused with the Mac Genius bar which doesn’t compare to your intelligence with Mac products).
So, when I posted images on Facebook of my computer screen doing something like this…
My final comment on the situation is of confidence…
In the digital age of photography, a fast and reliable computer is essential to having a productive workflow. You have been a big part in keeping my system running like a well-oiled machine… just to be clear, I’m not supposed to oil my Macbook Pro, right?
The Story Behind the Shot:
Stason & Marcy invited me over to their house and I took photos of each of them using their individual iPads. And we thought it would be nice to have the piece of art they bought from me in the background. It was a mixed media gel transfer made of a photo I took of a tree, placed onto found mental and texturized using eco-friendly gel medium and tints.
